I thank God for His blessings with my pregnancy and my new half time job! Praise Him! I come to you Lord asking you to heal my anxiety. I am nervous about doing the "right things" during pregnancy with so much information to read and hear. I am booked to visit my family in July but have anxiety about the flight. I ask God to help and heal me. I need it. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this little one You are creating out of sight by all, yet lovingly fashioned in every detail. I pray for protection and a helathy pregnancy and a heart and mind at rest. It is a time of learning to trust You and I thank You for this learning time that continues through-out the babie's life. I ask that you would help this young mom-to-be not to be anxious, but to go to You with everything, with prayer and thanksgiving. Bless her with Your peace as she does this.

Recently I took my daughter-in-law, JL, for brunch to celebrate her birthday. I told her about your book, Celebrations, but that I had been unable to get a copy. I shared my concern that there are likely writings among the recipes, that I do not want to offend her. She assured me she does not know much about the Mennonites and would be happy to learn, and yes, she is always looking for more recipes. Last week I bought the book and have enjoyed it cover to cover. I plan to give it to her on Saturday. Please pray that her heart will be touched (it's not about 'Mennonite') with a hunger for the Christian life as it is beautifully portrayed throughout the pages.

Oh Lord, it is never about anything except YOU and your love reaching out to draw people into your kingdom! Thank you for this mother and her love for her daughter in law. I pray that you open this young woman's heart to your voice. It has been our prayer that our cook book would be more than a cook book - that you could use it to touch people's hearts and spirits. May you bless this mother and her daughter in law and use our book in whatever way you can! Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love! in Jesus' name, Amen

Pray for our friends Howard who was cutting his lawn on Tuesday and his riding lawn mower blew up burning 70% of his body. Only his face and head were not burned as badly as the rest of his body. He and his wife are believers but his two sons and families are not. He is going to surgery Monday for debridement and skin grafting. It will be a 5 hour surgery. He had a prior stint put in his heart and that has occluded with the accident (he has had a heart attack in layman's terms). Howard parents both died before Christmas(Nov and Dec). The wife Phyllis lost her Dad in Feb, leaving her Mom, who moved to our town in a care facility because she has dementia and now she is having fairly major perineal cancer surgery July 29. Please pray for Howard for God to watch over his heart health, healing for these wounds all over his body, strength to get through the dressing changes,a clear mind because the pain and Morphine are causing delusions, perseverance through it all. Strength for Phyllis and salvation for the boys

Dear Heavenly Father, we want to bring Howard to You as he faces surgery for his burns. I pray that the grafting will heal well and for minimal pain. I ask that the family senses Your care and provision, drawing them ever nearer to You and to believe in the power of prayer. I pray for a strong heart in a physical sense and in a spiritual sense and the stamina needed to deal with the pain and drugs. Help this family know your love. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Dearest Heavenly Father - You alone know the physical and emotional pain that Howard is going through - Please bring healing and peace to his heart and his body and may his family see his steady faith and dependence on You and turn their hearts to You. Come alongside this suffering family Lord and let them feel your nearness in a tangible way. We pray this with Thanksgiving for Your compassion and power. Amen

Please stand with me in prayer and agreement to see my son and daughter-in-law's marriage fully restored and healed as it comes under God's perfect will. He is a Marine and has shipped out to parts unknown (also pray for God's protection and safe-keeping for him), and she is now living in Iowa and under her family's influence. They are united in spirit and I feel this marriage is meant to be, but their flesh wars against each other constantly. Pray for forgiveness and unity. They will meet on 23 August to decide if they will continue to work on their marriage or go their separate ways. I am trusting God for His divine and perfect will.

Julie said...

Dear Lord, you designed marriage -- it is you that make two people one! I pray for this married couple that you would work in their hearts - soften them one to another and may they recognize that the foundation of a good marriage is commitment and love -- first of all in their relationship with you , then to each other - also forgiving one another as you have forgiven them. Protect them as they are separated and bring them safely back together again.
I pray for your miraculous intervention to make this marriage strong and that you would be glorified in it ! I pray too for their extended families that they would be supportive and wise in their interaction with them. In your name I pray, Amen.

Timpson77, Your request caught my attention as my daughter is married to a Marine and he is away right now training in California and later this year will be leaving on deployment to Afghanistan. Our daughter will be living with us while he is away.

Dear Lord, You are the author of marriage and the commitment a man and wife make in marriage is important to you and it is your will that marriages last and survive all of the evil bombarded against it. I lift up this couple to you that you will keep their hearts and minds in you and that they will forgive each other and reconcile to each other and once again be united in you. May they abandon their own wills and be united with your will and accept your will dear Lord. Have mercy on them, Lord...

Living in close proximity to Winnipeg, Bev and Charlotte will know of the unspeakable tragedy that occurred last week In Coleridge Park when a young women, overcome with postpartum depression, took the lives of her three year old daughter, her three month old infant and then took her own life. We ask not why, but we do ask for strength for the young dad left behind, her parents, family and her inlaws and their family. Please add your prayers to ours that God will grant peace and hope to those closest to Lisa and that they will understand that they did everything possible to help her in her time of great need. The family needs the love and support of a wide community. Thank you for adding your love through prayer.

Oh Lord, You know this family - you know and your wisdom goes where we can only flounder. We pray, holding up this young husband/father - without your grace and strength how could he stand. Oh, Lord, hold him close, carry him through this horrible time of loss. We pray also for the whole extended family and circle of friends that this will draw them together to support one another, to give comfort and draw strength from sharing each other's sorrow. Our hearts weep with them ... We thank you that we have you to turn to in time of need. In Jesus' name... amen

Anonymous, It is true, Betty and I certainly have heard so much about this tragedy regarding "postpartum depression and psychosis" Something that we should all educate ourselves with more. Lord, we hardly have words that can grasp the intense grief this young husband and father and the people that loved her are feeling....may your presence give them comfort and peace that passes all understanding for this intense grief. In your name we pray......

May her 3 teenage girls support her both emotionally and physically. Lord if it is your will, please provide Tara with a clean bill of health, and most importantly - may our eyes be opened to the lesson in her journey. Amen. Kathleen

You know the details, you know the choices this daughter has made to bring her to this place. You also are able to bring her back out of the darkness into your light. I pray that you would order circumstances in such a way that would give her what she needs to overcome the destructive things she has allowed into her life. My children and I need prayer. I have left my children's dad because we are not married and he is abusive and I want to do the right thing before God. However, this means that my little children don't have anyone to stand between them and their dad to absorb the abuse. We go to court soon to decide custody and parenting time. I know that God is with me and my children. I give myself and my children to Him daily. Please pray that God will surround each of us, the judge and the attorneys and influence all for His glory and the salvation of my little children.
