      1. Suzan, That is a tough one, when someone else makes poor choices and it affect the innocent people that we love, especially the children. May the Lord protect your family from further harm. I will pray for your son in law that his heart is turned toward Jesus and experience healing from this horrible drug addiction.

      2. Suzanne, I am joining Charlotte in prayer for your daughter and her family situation. Sometimes we can lose heart and get discouraged when we pray about something like this for a long time. As you continue to seek God and pray for your family it is an investment that is invaluable. Praying for you today Suzan.

I pray that God will move in your SIL's life that he recognizes his destructive path and turns from it. I pray too for your daughter, that she is has the wisdom and strength to hold her family together .. and I also pray that God put a hedge of protection and love around your granddaughter to keep her safe!

      4. The Lord Jehovah! All deserving of our praises! HE can heal your daughter/and her husband! Believe me! I use to smoke a lot of pot, when I first entered university and discovered Jesus. At first (the first year or so,) I kept smoking, and obviously making bad choices, but then asked the church I was attending to please please please pray to Jehovah to heal me, and boom! I think, like, the week after, ALL GONE! boom. no more cravings afterwards. Since then, I've smoked a couple times, out of choice (bad choice, confused choice) but I've got two kids, a husband (not that my home life is perfect, because it isn't) but I've been able to make some other choices, be more focused, actually finish books; which has all been amazing! I'd like to start school again and... yeah! Keep the hope! And keep the Love alive in your heart and life as much as you can, because this is He/his hope for healing. (Love is)<3 Blessings and Much Love sent your way.

    3. I have always loved your site and your recipes. But most of all, the love that goes behind every one! My husband and I own our own business. Part of our work deals with cold weather and last winter we stayed too warm. This winter looks to be same so far. So with the lack of business, my husbands growing tired. There's been a lot of cold calling, knocking on doors, etc, but the phone is slow to ring. He believes in God, but does not go to him when he is needed most. I know in my heart that God supplies all and I try to remember that every day as I do my list of chores. But I ask of all of you, pray that God will show him, and I need a serious push, not a tap, the way. Will show him that if he believes, and puts faith in Him, he shall supply all.
My heartfelt thanks to all of you! - Heather

      1. Heather, I can identify with you somewhat. My husband got laid off last May and is still looking for work. It can be discouraging. Last night we started attending a course at our church called Hearing God. That time alone with God is so key to all areas of our life. I will pray that you and your husbands faith will grow deeper during these days of uncertainty and that He will especially work in your husbands life in this transition period of the unknown. I stand with you in supporting our men as they seek what lies ahead and pray that God will use us to encourage and build them up in their character and that they would see steadfastness in our walk with the Lord. As God puts you on my heart in the coming days I'll be praying for you and your husband. "Be still and know that I am God", May you both KNOW that God cares and His love for you is new every morning. 4. Heather, I just want you to know that your concern has been read ... not only by us, but by the Lord who know what we need even before we ask. It is interesting that He still wants us to ask. Letting Him know that we depend on Him, puts HIm on the throne of our lives and I can see that is what you are doing. I'm sure you know the verse In Matthew 7:7, Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Another verse, that encouraged me today, is Ps. 138:8 "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands."
I've asked the Lord, to show your husband that He does care and that He will supply your every need.
May we all come into a closer walk with God because of having to trust Him.

    6. Heather, my husband and I have been in seasons of our life where it seemed, in the natural, there was no way He could meet our needs.... yet He always found a way!
"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want!"
I'm praying the Lord will show your husband and you, that His promises are true, that we can rest in Him. knowing His supply for us is not dependent on earthly things but comes directly from His heavenly store ! Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

    7. Dear Friends, I truly believe in prayer but I really need more help with my situation. I am elderly and my 58 year old son is estranged from me. He is a manic depressive who refused to recognize his illness (a symptom) and will not seek help. No one in the family has been successful in reaching him to understand that this is not his fault, just that it is an illness. Would you please pray for him and our family because we love him and wish him to be as God intended him to be. Thank you...marie

    8. Ohh Marie... I am so sorry about your son. It doesn't matter how old he is, a son is always a son to his mother, isn't he. I pray that God will give wisdom to all/anyone who has contact with your son, that he will not be able to escape the love and prayers of his mother and that God will find a way to reach him. May the Lord also comfort your heart and hold you close!
May He provide all the help you need and seek!

    9. Marie, just as Julie said, a mother is a mother regardless of the age of her child. This kind of illness is one of the most difficult kind to have. Denial is indeed a symptom of manic depression. It is encouraging that the family is so supportive of him and seeking for ways to get him help. I can see how difficult this is for you, and I too will pray that your son will receive the help that he so desperately needs. May you experience God's peace that passes all understanding, as you wait and trust in the Lord.

      2. I join you in the area of wisdom to know when and how to speak to those who need salvation. I also need that prayer. In church just yesterday, we read in Acts 4 where the believers prayed "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
May God bless and encourage you.

    16. Hello ladies,
I am really enjoying your blog. I hesitate to ask anyone to pray for me...I tend to feel that I should just take my needs to the Cross and leave them there. The thing is, I haven't been a widow very long and, frankly, I'm not very good at it. And, as I sit here now weeping, I just thought maybe it would be OK to ask you if you would. The hardest thing I've ever been called on to do is live without my dear husband. Anyway...I just thought I'd ask. Thank you. Martha

And how hard it is to do alone the things you always did together.
It's OK to weep, its OK to grieve.. Jesus wept as well, didn't He. And its OK to ask for help.
I pray that the Lord be your comfort and your strength and may He bring those people into your days that will walk this difficult journey with you. I read something today, I know it is trite but I thought it was good ... "Time heals, give Time time"....

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of life. You know the tiniest details of this child on the way. It is your desire that every child learns to know you and has a loving home to grow. I pray now for this man who needs guidance in how to father this child. May he put his own desires away for the sake of this child. Thank you for this grandmother who cares so deeply for her family. Father, give her grace for this day and for the days ahead. Give her wisdom in her counsel and courage for the days ahead. In Jesus name...Amen.

Thank you so much, Lovella! It helps just to know someone cares enough to lift us up to prayer to the Lord in heaven. It make me feel better to know someone is there.

Donna, I jsut feel led to let you know how I have been encouraged in the last while on how influential a grandmother can be. We had a man working with Compassion at our church telling us that faith came to their family because of his grandmother's prayers. At my sister-in-laws memorial service her gandchildren, one after the other shared aboutthe influence she'd had on their lives. .. I pray that the Lord gives you joy and wisdom where He has put you. Cast your cares upon Him, He cares for you. I pray that you will have wonderful opportunities to show love to this child and encourage your son and the mother of the child.
